Coming from a BizTalk background, discovering differences between BizTalk and Mule is really interesting. Not necessarily to find one better than the other, but to appreciate differences in design and understand philosophy behind it.

I have followed a very simple Echo example to learn how to use Echo component in mule. The first thing I noticed was that the example was written for Mule 3.4. This example would work up to 3.7 but not after 3.8. And sadly there isn’t up to date example for 3.8. So, let me brief things that I have found here.

What this means is that you could use this feature to connect Microsoft services like AX/CRM Online but not for other SaaS like Google Analytics, facebook, 3rd party OData endpoints requiring different authorization server. In that case, you could still use Azure Data Factory but will need to create a custom activity(basically your own component requiring coding exercise which takes a lot more efforts) and run it in HDinsight or Azure Batch.
